Writing:
This week we are continuing our Narratives/Small Moment Unit! Remember talking about watermelon and seed stories at the beginning of the year? We are circling back around to continue to grow as strong writers!
Head to Seesaw and watch the 5/12 writing mini-lesson. After watching the mini-lesson, respond with your own Seed Story. This is a topic of your choice (that is true/real!) Remember to include Seed Story details and sequencing words! You are also writing across pages with a beginning, middle, and ending. Write in Seesaw or emailed pdf.
Reading:
We are continuing our Fairytales Unit! Head to the Seesaw 5/12 mini-lesson. Next, check out the Fairytales Collection in Epic and pick a story to read/listen to. Finally, respond with a video telling me about the problem/solution in your fairytale. Once you're done, be sure to read for 15 minutes independently and try for 10 minutes with a partner!
*Check out some fun options on the emailed Reading Mat pdf!
Phonics:
Complete the sound-spelling activity on Seesaw!
*Optional* Extras/Additional opportunities:
*Write a letter or card to mail to a friend, family member, or Mrs. Becksfort
*Research something new – this is a great time to learn all about a new topic you've been curious about. Outer space? The Grand Canyon? A famous American? The possibilities are endless!
*Learn to cook or bake something – there is quite a bit of math involved in cooking and baking! Read the recipe, find the ingredients, set the oven, measure the ingredients, assemble the dish, and of course try it when it's done. It's also a great time to help with meals at home -assist in making them, setting the table, and washing the dishes afterwards!
*Do some Fitness- search YouTube for ‘Cosmic Kids Yoga,’ ‘Zumba for Kids,’ or ‘goNoodle.’
*Practice a sport or play a game outside
*Play with some playdoh or magnets
*Take a virtual fieldtrip
*Ask your mom or dad if there is an outside project you can help with...maybe picking up sticks, gathering some brush or leaves, or raking the yard?
