Walk-a-Thon

We had another fun and busy week in kindergarten!  We spent time reading with partners and enjoyed our Math Workshop rotations.  Additionally, the kindergartners participated in our school Walk-a-Thon and enjoyed walking and running around the track with their friends.  The kindergartners had so much fun encouraging one another and cheering one another on!  Thank-you so much for your support!

Classroom Literacy Support:
Michelle Maldonado is a Reading/Writing Paraprofessional at South Side helping many students achieve success.  She will be working with our class every afternoon (for about 20 minutes,) during our literacy block.  During this time, she will be working with students individually and in small groups.  Sometimes this help will happen in the classroom and sometimes she will take the kindergarteners out of the classroom and work across the hall.  As I see needs arise with a particular skill, she will be able to assist in giving students extra practice in that specific area.  I am thankful for the extra support that she will be able to give each of our learners!

Signs of Fall

Can you believe we will officially be welcoming fall this coming week? Even with the hot days and extra-sweaty recesses, we still had a great week! During our time together, we welcomed the official change of seasons (coming Monday,) talked about 'signs of fall' and fall favorites, celebrated the fact that our God is as consistent as the change of seasons, and finished our first Reading Workshop unit.  It’s so exciting to see the reading growth and progress that the kindergartners have already made!

Hard at Work!

We had another successful and exciting week in kindergarten!  We continued to work with our book boxes and spent time rotating through various Math Workshop stations.  We also enjoyed our first trip to the Outdoor Discovery Center.  Our time together is certainly moving fast as we continue to grow in our knowledge and understanding of God’s surrounding world!  It continues to be a joy to watch your child make connections, demonstrate God-honoring behavior, and show ‘Living Testimony’ actions and attitudes.  Thanks for your continued support and partnership!

Welcome, September!

We had a great, short week in kindergarten!  During our time together, we continued in our Math, Reading, and Writing Workshop lessons.  We also kicked off our five senses unit and talked about these truly amazing gifts from God!  As we continue to dive into our learning, it is obvious that the kindergartners are getting more and more comfortable in our daily routines.  God is certainly blessing our time together!

To God be the Glory!

This week our entire school district had the privilege of worshipping together at our opening Convocation.  It was a beautiful time spent glorifying our Savior and praying over the upcoming school year.  What a special experience!  As we continue to move into the 2019-2020 school year, it is my deepest prayer that your child continues to grow in his or her ability and desire to honor and glorify our King!

Welcome to Kindergarten!!

I cannot believe we have already completed our first days of Kindergarten!  Our time together flew by each day, but we completed many successful activities and lessons during these days together.  It has been such a blessing to see the joy and excitement on the face of your child during the first days of school!  I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your child!  It is my prayerful desire that the 2019-2020 Kindergarten year will shape your child spiritually, academically, and socially/emotionally.  Thank-you for your continued partnership and prayers!
